More stuff to do

If you are running as an incumbent, the first thing you should do the day after you get elected, is write a thank you notes to everyone who helped you.

When you do something (I write this from a Mayors perspective) for the rest of your term, write down what you do for each block and neighborhoods. As an example we have a program of rebuilding about 6 streets a year using federal and state dollars. Guess what every voter on that street needs to be reminded of the fact that you got this done for them. In fact I would make sure you try to register people on that street.

Do you have a blighted house in a neighborhood that your building department has fixed? Remind the neighbors of that fact. How do you capture this data? Inexpensive database software, spreadsheets or voter software will allow you to recall the incidents. You can buy voter data from the county or whoever control the voters rolls in your district.
